Penguin Diet

What Penguins Eat

Penguins eat sea animals.  Their main diet is fish, squid, and octopus.  They also eat krill, which is like a shrimp.  Krill are plentiful in Antarctic waters.

Penguins do all of their feeding in the water.  They store the food in a special place and regurgitate (that means spit up) the food later to feed their babies.
